Joni appears at a special tribute concert arranged in her honor by the Toronto arts festival, Luminato: Joni: A Portrait in Song — A Birthday Happening Live at Massey Hall.

Joni reveals, "I haven't done much creative work in terms of writing in the last year. I've got an unfinished poem about my mother's funeral. And another poem that I am going to recite tonight because I'm having vocal problems." Inspired by Emily Carr, Joni performs her new poem, This Rain, This Rain, set to music.

On this final night, Herbie Hancock (piano) joins the all-star lineup of musicians: Musical Director, Brian Blade (drums), Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet), Melvin Butler (saxophone), Jon Cowherd (piano & keyboards), Bill Frisell (guitar), Jeff Haynes (percussion), Marvin Sewell (guitar), and Christopher Thomas (bass).
