Nine-time Grammy winner Joni Mitchell made a dramatic entrance into the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre for the Broadway opening of Almost Famous in Midtown Manhattan on Thursday night.
The elusive Canadian folk legend - turning 79 next Monday - beamed while clad in a navy-blue flat cap over her signature braids as well as a black floral kimono and turquoise jewelry.
Music mogul Clive Davis, 90; could be seen leaning in for a kiss to greet Joni (born Roberta Joan) in time before the curtain rose.
Mitchell then took a seat in the VIP section between two mystery gentlemen companions.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer finished off her night-at-the-theater attire with large sunglasses, a bright red pout, and a matching manicure.
Joni - who suffered an aneurysm in 2015 - will headline her first concert in 23 years on June 10 at The Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA alongside six-time Grammy winner Brandi Carlile.
'I can't believe it's happening, but it's happening, and she is going to crush it,' the 41-year-old You and Me On the Rock singer confirmed on The Daily Show on October 19.
'No one's been able to buy a ticket to see Joni Mitchell play in 20 years. So this is enormous.'
But the man of the hour was Oscar-winning screenwriter Cameron Crowe, who adapted his own critically-acclaimed, autobiographical 2000 film for the Broadway musical as well as co-writing the lyrics with Tom Kitt.
The 65-year-old filmmaker proudly posed with one of his two 22-year-old twin sons - William - from his 22-year marriage to Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson, which ended in 2010.
Cameron also posed with Golden Globe nominee Paul Rudd, who easily defied his 53 years in a pin-stripe suit sans necktie.
The Almost Famous cast might have received a standing ovation on opening night but early reviews from The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Entertainment Weekly panned the 1973-set rock musical.
Also glamming up for opening night was 11-time Grammy nominee Vanessa Williams, who flashed her lacy camisole beneath a grey-patterned pantsuit and black peep-toe heels selected by stylist Vaanita Oakey.
The 59-year-old POTUS thespian is next scheduled to perform December 13-18 at supper club 54 Below, which is located in the basement of Studio 54 in Midtown Manhattan.
Vanessa posted an Instastory of her manicured hand holding the Almost Famous playbill while in her seat.
Retired groupie Pennie Trumbull - who inspired the Almost Famous character Penny Lane - wore a black halter dress featuring mesh sleeves and booties.
