Mitchell Completes Album Of Standards Print-ready version

Joni Mitchell is putting the finishing touches on an album of standards. The set, tentatively titled "Both Sides Now," features the singer/songwriter performing tracks made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday, among others. A 71-piece orchestra backs Mitchell on some numbers, while a big-band group provides support on others.

Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter guest on the album, which may be issued by Reprise as early as Feb. 14. The set also features fully orchestrated remakes of Mitchell chestnuts "Both Sides Now" and "A Case Of You."
