Tributes & Events

The iconic songs of Joni Mitchell are reimagined by some of The Smith’s favorite local and regional musicians.

This exclusive tribute concert features beloved Rochester songstress Connie Deming performing Mitchell’s 1971 Blue album. Branded by Democrat and Chronicle music writer Jeff Spevak as “the best pure singer in the city, a performer with Joni Mitchell clarity and electricity,” Connie has just completed her eighth recording of original material titled Fly. She captivates hearts in a moving and deep way with her stories and intimately crafted musicality. She will be accompanying herself on the Smith Opera House’s Steinway concert grand piano, with Geneva guitarist Michael George Gonzales accompanying her on a few songs.
