I meant to post this article in the morning, but I'm just not accomplishing as much as I'd like to today; I'm still reeling as the grisly catastrophe in the Eastern U.S. continues to unfold. I thoroughly enjoyed this September 8 Billboard interview with Joni when I first read it. Now, I also find it comforting to read an interview that reveals the integrity and honesty of an artist. I'm reminded that there are things of beauty in this world that go a long way toward bringing people together and enriching lives, helping us to firm up our resolve and move forward, even as we're also brought together by a collective experience of numbing tragedy, great sadness and outrage.

Joni touches on a variety of subjects in her interview withBillboard Editor in Chief Timothy White, many of which have been of interest to Joniphiles. The article begins with her recollection of a recent encounter with a young rock musician concerning the integrity of his art; the article continues with topics that include her plans for the future, concluding with new information on the November recording of her next orchestral project.
