Two new paintings that Joni completed shortly after the World Trade Center disaster appeared in yesterday's issue of the Los Angeles Times Magazine. Pondering what I consider strikingly different moods created by the two paintings, I found myself lost in yin/yang thoughts about the search for solace in what Joni called "the world... turned upside down."
