USA Today recently ran a brief story about Allison Anders' film documentary of Joni's recording sessions for her upcoming orchestral CD that contained a few interesting bits of information I hadn't seen before. For starters, writer Edna Gundersen tells us that Joni "is revamping many of her favorite compositions with a host of voices" and that "Amelia" has been "expanded to lush grandeur with a choir." A choir? There's something to light up the imagination!

The article also reports that "Sex Kills" has been recorded for the collection.

Another tantalizing report appearing in the USA Today story says that "Though no tour is planned, Mitchell is considering scheduling some performances" to promote the project. Hopefully I'll find some specific information about this that I can report on soon.

For more info on the upcoming CD, check out the news posts dated 3/6/02 and 12/4/01.
