A music documentary "with the likes of Joni Mitchell" is among Rosanna Arquette's three new film projects, according to a report in yesterday's USA Today. Although no other information was given, I can't help but assume from the article's phrasing that Joni would be a prominent feature. Let's hope we hear more soon.

There are already two other Joni documentaries in the works: the biographical "Joni Mitchell: Both Sides Now - and Then," and "The Circle Game," which centers on the recording of her upcoming CD.

Arquette, best known for her starring roles in films including Desperately Seeking Susan and After Hours, has just released the first of her three films, working behind the camera. Searching for Debra Winger is, among other things, an endictment of Hollywood's preoccupation with sexy young actresses. Arquette says that roles "all but dry up" for actresses as they mature and try to juggle careers with home lives. The film includes candid interviews with nearly 30 leading actresses including Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg, Sharon Stone and Vanessa Redgrave.
