Joni's new CD Travelogue will find her relocating to a new record label. It was recently announced that the new CD will be released on the Nonesuch label, where Joni shares the roster with a wide variety of artists with styles ranging from jazz to world music, classical to rock. Fans of drummer Brian Blade will be glad to hear that he's back for the Travelogue project, along with longtime musical cohorts and friends Larry Klein, Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock. The last reported release date for Travelogue was November 19; check back for updates on when the CD will be available.

Joni's recent Rolling Stone interview starts off peacefully enough, as she recalls the first concert she ever went to (Ray Charles) and talks with interviewer David Wild about finding her voice as a singer. Once the conversation turns to the state of the music business, all bets are off as Joni tells Wild that she's "ashamed" to be a part of it. This comment, and some of her other more pointed remarks at the end of the interview were immediately picked up by other media sources, who for the most part reprinted a Reuter's story that ignores most of the interview and rehashes the recent comments with old news.
