Joni is on a list of featured artists scheduled to appear at the "Stormy Weather 2002" Benefit for the Walden Woods Project/Thoreau Institute, according to reports at, among others, Cheryl Crow.com and Yahoo! Entertainment News.

Please note that I've been unable to definitely confirm Joni's appearance as of this writing; I still wanted to mention that she's mentioned in the announcement, even though the lineups at benefit concerts can sometimes be subject to last minute changes.

The show is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13 at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Sunday Oct. 20 at 12 PM (noon) PDT. For more information on tickets see the Ticketmaster website at the link below.

As many of you know, Joni performed at the "Stormy Weather" Benefit in 1998 (singing the title song -- she's said that the performance was one of the things that inspired her to record with an orchestra).

The Walden Woods Project was founded by Don Henley in 1990. Henley has devoted much time and energy to this endeavor, and his efforts have paid off; he was in attendance this month when the state of Massachusetts ceded the 26.4 acre Goose Pond to the Walden Pond State Reservation. The amount of protected land is now almost 360 acres. The Walden Woods Project website is well worth a visit, and more than just once.

Among the other guests scheduled to appear at "Stormy Weather 2002" are Sheryl Crow, Reba McEntire, Stevie Nicks and Susan Tedeschi.

It's sure to be a great show whether Joni appears or not, but I think it will be that much better if she does!
