The Music of Joni & Hannah, NYC, October 19

Posted October 15, 2025

Joni Mitchell, lauded as one of the first and greatest singer-songwriters since the 1960s, with recent awards from the Kennedy Center, US and Canadian Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, and for her album, Blue, hailed by Rolling Stone as #3 on the list of the greatest 500 records of all time, is one of music’s most influential artists.

Now in her 13th year of performing retrospective shows of Mitchell’s work, Hannah Reimann (lead vocals, piano & dulcimer) taught herself to play dulcimer for this show and includes renowned jazz, pop, and Broadway players in her band for truly authentic renditions. About her performance of "Blue," Kevin Doheny (jonimitchell.com) wrote, "well played, well performed, it was extraordinary." Audiences can expect to hear a wide array of Joni’s greatest hits from her 40+ year career at this show, including “Big Yellow Taxi,” “A Case of You,” “River,” “Both Sides Now,” “Help Me,” “Woodstock,” and many more.

Reimann and guitarist Michele Temple first played the renowned album, “Blue,” in its entirety in 2012 with their colleagues at The Bitter End, where Mitchell played in the 1960s. Since that time, they have performed over 40 songs from Mitchell’s catalogue from seven albums and continue to add more songs to their repertoire with each performance in venues in four US states. What sets their show apart from other Joni Mitchell cover acts is their dedication to playing an authentic concert in the same keys and arrangements as the original studio and live recordings, plus seeking out great collaborators in New York City who are willing to do the same with them.

The 2025 edition of BOTH SIDES NOW includes hits by Joni and originals by Hannah. More information here
