Colleen Brown sings Joni, Red Deer AB, October 28

Having topped college radio charts and toured in Europe, Edmonton singer/songwriter Colleen Brown will be performing next week in Red Deer.

Brown will sing selections from the Joni Mitchell Songbook at the Elks Hall on Oct. 28, in a show presented by the Central Music Festival.

Having grown up on the border of Alberta and Saskatchewan, Brown’s has been hugely influenced by Mitchell. The creator of Both Sides Now, Big Yellow Taxi, The Circle Game and many other tunes, stands out as one of the most important female songwriters of our time, as evidenced by Mitchell’s landmark albums Blue, Ladies of the Canyon and Hejira.
