Joan & Joni Tribute, Morristown NJ, January 25

Joan & Joni will perform at the Minstrel Acoustic Concert Series on Friday, January 25, at 7:30 pm at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Rd, Morristown.

According to the group, Joan & Joni is a tribute to Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell performed by singer/songwriters Allison Shapira and Kipyn Martin. Allison and Kipyn are both classically trained musicians from the DC-area folk music scene. In Joan & Joni. Allison and Kipyn bring to the stage many of Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell’s well- known originals and folk songs, as well as a few hidden gems. They also highlight the impact these legendary women have had on their own songwriting and performance. Kipyn Martin is an award-winning Americana singer/songwriter whose roots sink into the banks of the Shenandoah River. Allison Shapira is a recovering opera singer from Boston who recently found her authentic voice as a folksinger and songwriter.
