Joni Mitchell Tribute Concert, Gainesville FL, Nov 18

Posted November 07, 2017

This loving tribute concert is dedicated to showcasing some of Joni’s greatest compositions, especially from her first decade of recordings.

The ambitious undertaking of this multi-generational group of iconic Gainesville musicians features songs from Mitchell's first decade of recordings, including Song to a Seagull, Clouds, Ladies of the Canyon, Blue, For the Roses, Court and Spark, and Hejira. Of course, it takes four "Joni's" to do this, and they are Cathy DeWitt, Samara Crutchfield, and Janet and Maggie Rucker. The band includes David Beede, dulcimer, Richard Bassil, bass; Brad Bangstad, keyboard; Michael Derry, guitar; and Rob Rothschild, drums. DeWitt and Rucker also perform double duty on piano and guitar.

This concert will be a reprise of the standing-room-only show earlier in the year at the Thomas Center – but with a few surprises!

The venue is perfect for this concert. Heartwood Soundstage is a state-of-the-art recording studio, video production facility, and intimate performance venue - built by musicians for music lovers and music makers. More information here
