Presenting “NEWS,” a new collection of paintings by Joni Mitchell

“In the current climate, I felt a need to express my concern. It is an artist’s duty to speak up.”

Painting has been a constant practice for Joni throughout her life, guided by a visual language that has always been distinctly her own. Over an iconoclastic career, she has always followed her own instincts over anyone’s expectations. “NEWS” brings this practice to the fore in a forthright response to the world as she sees it today.

Across 23 compelling new paintings, Mitchell turns her eye to our 24-hour news cycles with slogans, song lyrics, and uncompromising imagery. Her sharp wit skewers power and politics; her voice articulates protest and resistance. A powerful expression of her undimmed creative independence and vision, “NEWS” is a testament to the enduring power of art.

Night Ride Home to be released on vinyl

Night Ride Home LP, All Analog - AAA - Ships on November 13, 2026. The album is presented in a gatefold jacket and includes a 2-sided litho of Joni’s original photo prints. This pressing was mastered directly from the original analog master tapes by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, Hollywood, CA Pressed and plated at Record Technologies, Inc. Joni wins the Grammy Award for Best Historical Album

Joni earned the 2026 Grammy for Best Historical Album for Joni Mitchell Archives - Volume 4: The Asylum Years — 1976-1980, celebrating a project that showcases an important slice of her influential career. The collection was carefully curated, remastered, and annotated to preserve Mitchell’s artistry while providing insight into her creative evolution.
