Milan, Italy (AP) - Riot police fired tear gas bombs into a crowd of nearly 1,000 stone-throwing youths who tried to break into a tent theater for a performance by Joni Mitchell, police said today.

Several youths and policemen were injured in the nearly three-hour riot Monday night, police said. One car was set afire and others were damaged. Inside the theater, the Canadian singer completed her concert for an audience of 7,000.
