My sister and I were just 16 & 17 and we had front row tickets. I don't remember much of the concert just the thrill of having her in front of us. She did look at both of us. To this date I am still thrilled. I also have another sister about 4 yrs older, she's the one that turned us onto Joni's music about 5 years earlier. We were big fans. I still am a BIG fan!!! All through my years Joni is the one person that I'd love to meet. I regret not sending her a fan letter asking her to have lunch with me and my two sisters. :-)

It was cold in Minneapolis that January night, and the sky was clear & crisp. The seats in Northrop on the University of Minnesota campus were uncomfortable & crowded. Joni looked tired and she seemed pensive & brooding--she didn't speak much during the performance, but she did remark about the beautiful winter moon overhead. John Guerin was quite animated as he played. Joni's 'Rainy Night House' moved us deeply--it was eerie & possessing. Joni cast her spell over all of us that night, and we will never forget.   [ed.]  [ed.]
