i'm not certain which of the 1972 troubadour shows that i saw joni performing at...but i am sure in the concert i attended that when non-stop applause brought joni back to the stage for a third encore, she put her hands on her hips and said, "who do you think i am, the grateful dead?"

She wore a belt with an elephant buckle and I sat so close to the stage that I could have reached out an touched her. What I would give to be able to sit there and listen to her again!
