Music legend JONI MITCHELL is to come out of retirement to record her first new album for eight years. The singer/songwriter claims world events and her dislike of the current US leadership has inspired her comeback - because it's time for active artists to rise up and make sure their voices and opinions are being heard. She says, "When the world becomes a massive mess with nobody at the helm, it's time for artists to make their mark." Insiders claim Mitchell is working with jazz legend HERBIE HANCOCK on the comeback album, as well as longtime collaborators BRIAN BLADE and WAYNE SHORTER. The album features one track, HOLY WAR, which attacks terrorist groups for killing in the name of religion, while another is inspired by RUDYARD KIPLING's epic poem IF.
