I had been a fan since first hearing Help Me. I digested her albums, one at time, memorizing them song by song, and learning to play and sing them, still singing them today. In all that time, I had never once had an opportunity to hear her until this concert. It was amazing, even though I was way back in the festival seating area. Like others, when I first heard her voice, live, I cried...which surprised me... I will never, never forget it!

The memory is a little faded but I remember being magnetized by her from start to finish. The venue had a surprising intimacy. She seemed so marvelously close. And am I only imagining that sly, self-effacing humor of her personality, that still-powerful, haunting voice, and a jocular rapport with her band? I wrote her a fan letter not long after, but she did not reply.
