An amazing concert, and the only time I saw Joni Mitchell live. The jazz and rock infusion and full back-up band were drawing mixed reviews from traditionalists, who wanted dulcimer music. But I loved it. A musician myself, I was lost in the whole concept, loved the music, and loved her growth. I was in college at the time, and groupied up to Robben Ford after the concert, and he introduced me to Joni Mitchell backstage. She wore a camel-colored pencil skirt with a silk blouse, so businesslike, and it was such a surprise to me to see another side of her than the artist. I missed my ride back to campus, and had to hitch a ride, and it was worth it.
