Don Juan's Reckless Daughter

Music Review
August 6, 2005

Dating from 1977. and not particularly well received at the time, Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter has aged very well indeed, and is certainly one of the most adventurous albums of the Canadian singer-songwriter’s distinguished career. On it she takes a classical concerto style to what is essentially a jazz album, coloured by her natural folk flavorings and imbued with both world and otherworldly influences. It’s a beautifully pace, impeccably played and eminently listenable album, which plays for an hour but seems much shorter.
