NEW YORK - A marathon concert honouring Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell will be held this coming weekend in New York.

The event, called "Wall to Wall Joni Mitchell", is a 12-hour salute to the music and poetry of the legendary performer.

Over 30 acts from the world of folk, jazz and blues will take part, putting their own spin on Mitchell's music.

The doors at the concert hall will stay open throughout the 12-hour concert and admission is free.

Mitchell herself will not perform and it's still unclear whether she will make an appearance.

For more arts news, listen to The Arts Report weekdays at 7:12 a.m., 8:12 a.m. and 5:55 p.m. on CBC Radio Two.
