Joni and Nick Drake Tribute, Tampa Bay FL, August 3

On Saturday, Aug 3 at the Side Door in St. Pete, members of critic and audience favorite The Florida Björkestra will convene for a closeup look at life, death, love and music through the lens of two geniuses, Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake.

We’re calling this “A Special Florida Björkestra Evening.” It has a nice ring to it. Original FL Björkestra members Daniel Navarro on bass and Dave Hamar on drums return from touring the US with Mandy Harvey, joining Jeremy Douglass, Ed Woltil and Whitney James (and a small army of special guests from the larger ensemble) for an intimate performance in Palladium’s Side Door.

We’re going to cut a deep path through all of Ed’s favorite Nick Drake songs. And then change the scenery a bit with Whitney James singing from Joni Mitchell’s vast and brilliant catalog. More information here.
