You’re invited to join in celebrating the Ultimate Joni Mitchell Birthday Bash, as Kiki Ebsen and her Joni Mitchell ProjectTM invite Joni’s fans to join them Friday, November 4, at The E-Spot Lounge at Vitello’s Upstairs in Studio City, CA. On the heels of September’s sold-out concert event, the band returns for two sets of their favorites among Ms. Mitchell’s rich discography. And yes, in addition to singing along with their favorite songs from their tables, all patrons will be invited to sing happy birthday as a special cake is shared after dinner.

Saying “Happy Birthday, Joni” is just one more way in which these Los Angeles-based touring musicians want to express their regard and appreciation for the Canadian singer-songwriter and artist was born in in Fort MacLeod, Alberta. “In the past five decades, Ms. Mitchell has amassed an unparalleled following of award-winning musicians, each of whom name her among their most influential, inspirational artists. Her talent should be celebrated at every occasion, particularly during her birthday week,” said Kiki Ebsen.

Joining Ebsen are Grant Geissman (guitar), Terry Wollman (guitar), Steven Lawrence (bass), and Matt Starr (drums). To formally introduce her Joni tribute project, Kiki chose Vitello’s Upstairs as an intimate venue for friends and fans of Joni Mitchell to enjoy songs ranging from her most familiar FM radio hits, as well as some of her most intellectual, soulful album cuts.

Kiki created The Joni Mitchell Project”…as an opportunity for Joni-inspired professional musicians to join her in declaring “our respect, regard, and unending appreciation for her gifts.” The two-set show includes “Night in the City,” “Twisted,” “Help Me,” “In France They Kiss on Main Street,” plus “Black Crow,” “Case of You,” “Two Grey Rooms” “River,” “Carey” and so many more songs from nine of Joni’s albums spanning 1968–1976.
