Spring Thaw cast eyed Print-ready version

TORONTO (CP) - Moni Yakim, a noted Israeli mime, actor and director, arrived here Jan. 2 to select the 16-member cast of the 1970 version of Spring Thaw - Canada's longest-running musical review.

None of the cast of Spring Thaw's '70 Is a New Bag will have performed in any other Spring Thaw, Producer Howard Bateman said.

Rehearsals begin Jan. 5 and the show opens here Feb. 16.

Rehearsals begin today by various Canadian artists, including Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Ian and Sylvia, Oscar Peterson, Robert Charlebois, Leonard Cohen, Paul Anka and Boris Brott.
