JONI MITCHELL comes to Britain this summer to play four concerts with the L.A. Express as the climax to a European tour.
The concerts will be the first time Mitchell, whose "The Hissing Of Summer Lawns" was the Melody Maker's Album Of 1975, has appeared in this country since her shows two years ago; she played a sell-out concert at the New Victoria Theatre in London on April 20, 1974, and was on the bill at Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young's Wembley Stadium extravaganza in September of that year.
Her European tour, as exclusively reported in the MM last week, starts in Oslo on May 14. The concerts continue in Germany, France and Holland before coming to Britain for three shows in London at the end of the Month.
Mitchell's British schedule is: LONDON Hammersmith Odeon (May 26, 27 and 28) and GLASGOW Apollo Centre (30).
The European tour is part of a world wide trek by Mitchell and The L.A. Express, which started this month with concerts in America. She appears in Japan and Australia during April and early May.
Mitchell's "The Hissing Of Summer Lawns" is at number 24 in this week's MM album chart.
