Four days after Joni Mitchell was hospitalized after being found unconscious at her home in Los Angeles, the Blue singer's official website issued an update on Mitchell's condition. "Joni remains under observation in the hospital and is resting comfortably," Mitchell's site told fans Friday night. "We are encouraged by her progress and she continues to improve and get stronger each day."

It's still unclear why Mitchell passed out, but the CBC News reported that the singer suffered a "minor medical emergency." Soon after paramedics were sent to Mitchell's house on March 31st, the singer regained consciousness in the ambulance en route to the hospital. "Joni has been hospitalized. We are awaiting official word on her condition and will post it here as soon as we know," her official website confirmed.

In addition to the good news regarding Mitchell's health, her official site also launched We Love You, Joni!, which will "aggregate Facebook and Twitter messages so that Joni can see all the well wishes people are sending her way." Fans are also encouraged to use the hashtag #WeLoveYouJoni.

Mitchell has reportedly suffered from a rare condition called Morgellons for the past eight years. In Mitchell's case, she described the disorder as "fibers in a variety of colors protrude out of my skin like mushrooms after a rainstorm." It's unknown whether the singer's recent health scare is associated with that disorder.

"Morgellons is constantly morphing," Mitchell later told The Daily Mail of her symptoms. "There are times when it's directly attacking the nervous system, as if you're being bitten by fleas and lice. It's all in the tissue and it's not a hallucination. It was eating me alive, sucking the juices out. I've been sick all my life."

In June 2013, after Mitchell made her last live appearance during a pair of tribute shows at Toronto's Massey Hall, the singer admitted that felt "kind of out of it" due to undisclosed health reasons.
