Canada's musical past Shakin' All Over (8 p.m. ET/PT, CBC)

Take a trip back in time to the flower-power decade when a sonic revolution took place in the Great White North. Based on Nicholas Jennings' book Before the Gold Rush: Flashback to the Down of the Canadian Sound, director Gary McGroarty's documentary looks at the hundreds of bands and singer-songwriters who emerged across Canada, including Joni Mitchell. The program features candid interviews with icons like Gordon Lightfoot, Buffy Sainte-Marie and Bruce Cockburn as well as rare performance clips of such songs as Lightfoot's "Early Morning Rain."
