One of Canada's leading folk-rock groups, 3's a Crowd, internationally acclaimed Canadian folksinger-composer Joni Mitchell, and brilliant young U.S. comedian Richard Pryor team up in Our Kind of Crowd, a warm and witty hour of music and comedy with a youthful slant, to be seen on CBC television's Show of the Week, Monday, Nov. 4, in color.

Introduced by 3's a Crowd's lead singer Donna Warner (there are actually five performers in the group) as a sort of "experimental concerto", the show includes original songs by the group, some wry reminiscences of his childhood by Pryor, and three of the haunting songs of love fulfilled and love gone sour composed and performed by Joni Mitchell -- Night in the City, Cactus Tree and Midway Song. There's also a comic sketch-song in which Pryor joins the members of 3's a Crowd.

3's a Crowd have worked in clubs and coffeehouses all across Canada, and have also done their own CBC radio special. Richard Pryor was featured comic on the summer John Davidson show two years ago, and has appeared on most of the major U.S. television shows. Joni Mitchell, Saskatoon-born, whose first record was an instant hit last spring, is living in the United States, but returns frequently to Canada. Her songs are in the repertoires of such artists as Harry Belafonte and Judy Collins.
