Joni Mitchell is making her first appearance in many parts of the United States this Summer, on a tour booked by Dave Geffen of Ashley Famous Agency. The Canadian-born folk artist's previous U.S. engagements had taken her to just three cities: New York, Philadelphia and Detroit.

Her summer schedule began with a West Coast bow at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, June 4-16, followed a three-week stand at N.Y.'s Bitter End, closing July 7. She's set for La Cave in Cleveland (12-14), the Cellar Door in Washington, D.C. (15-20), and at Chicago's Ravina Festival on a bill with Theodore Bikel (24).

August Dates include the Mariposa (Ont.) Folk Festival (9-11), the Central Park (N.Y.) Music Festival (14) and the Philadelphia Folk Festival (23-25). Elliott Roberts is personal manager for the Reprise artist.
